Senior Devops Engineer

About the Role

This DevOps Engineer position sits within a leading technology team that underpins one of the most advanced hedge fund environments in the industry. The team is responsible for designing and operating high-performance DevOps systems that support quantitative research and trading strategies. Their work spans DevOps practices, including cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD automation, and observability, ensuring reliability and scalability for mission-critical platforms. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be central to delivering automation, resilience, and efficiency across the organisation's technology stack.

What You'll Do as a DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer in this organisation, you will take ownership of production DevOps support and help developers by maintaining scalable, secure non-production environments. Your work will span cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.

  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity, integrated with Bitbucket and Atlassian tools.
  • Deploy and operate Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Work with Azure Cloud (primarily non-production) and assist with migration to Linux-based systems.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and observability using the ELK stack.
  • Collaborate with DBAs and Data Engineers to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Drive automation-first practices (Infrastructure as Code, scripting, repeatable environments).

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 As at A-level (or equivalent high academic achievement).
  • Strong experience with DevOps tools and practices, including Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
  • Proven track record with CI/CD tools (TeamCity or similar) and Bitbucket/Atlassian integration.
  • Solid Azure Cloud knowledge and Linux administration experience.
  • Expertise in ELK stack for monitoring and alerting.
  • Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills in distributed systems.
