Overview of the Data Engineer role

Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with a leading organisation within the insurance sector, who are undergoing a significant period of investment across their data and analytics function.

They are seeking an experienced Data Engineer on a day rate contract to support the development of their data infrastructure, improve performance, and drive innovation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities of the Data Engineer will include

  • Develop a detailed understanding of internal and external data sources
  • Build and maintain data pipelines across multiple systems
  • Model and map the organisation's data landscape
  • Define and implement secure data exchange approaches
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to map data requirements

Required experience/qualifications of the Data Engineer will include

  • Experience working with at least two of the following: Python, SQL, Java
  • Proven experience within a data science or analytics environment
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Databricks
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
