Overview of the Data Engineer role
Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with a leading organisation within the insurance sector, who are undergoing a significant period of investment across their data and analytics function.
They are seeking an experienced Data Engineer on a day rate contract to support the development of their data infrastructure, improve performance, and drive innovation across the organisation.
Key responsibilities of the Data Engineer will include
- Develop a detailed understanding of internal and external data sources
- Build and maintain data pipelines across multiple systems
- Model and map the organisation's data landscape
- Define and implement secure data exchange approaches
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to map data requirements
Required experience/qualifications of the Data Engineer will include
- Experience working with at least two of the following: Python, SQL, Java
- Proven experience within a data science or analytics environment
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Databricks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
