Sellick Partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of a Lead SQL Database Administrator for an organisation based in Sunderland. This is a permanent role with hybrid working.

Responsibilities of the Lead Database Administrator include:

• Lead and coach a team of Database Developers, provide performance feedback and professional development opportunities
• Design and implement SQL database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures based on business requirements
• Contribute to improvements and migrations both with on-premises and cloud technologies
• Implement data modelling best practices to ensure data integrity, security, consistency, and usability
• Manage database scripts, schema changes, and integration code using version control systems
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve database-related issues, integration failures, and data discrepancies

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
• Proven experience in database administration and data engineering roles
• Proficiency with Azure and SQL Server administration and programming of on-premises and cloud database solutions
• Strong understanding and application of data modelling concepts, normalisation techniques, and database design principles
