Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

Senex Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a specialist high-technology manufacturer in the search for an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their growing production team in East Sussex. Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you will assemble advanced imaging and detection systems from individual mechanical and electronic components, used in demanding scientific, industrial and research applications where quality, precision and attention to detail are essential.

You will work from engineering drawings, assembly documentation and bills of materials to complete precision builds involving mechanical assemblies, PCBs, sensors, wiring and electronic components. Suitable backgrounds include scientific instrumentation, imaging systems and camera manufacturing, precision electronics assembly, optical equipment, medical device production, aerospace and defence electronics, and other high-value electronic equipment.

• Assemble specialist electronic and electro-mechanical products from component level
• Install PCBs, sensors, connectors and associated electronic assemblies
• Carry out wiring, cable preparation and soldering activities where required
• Assemble precision mechanical parts and housings using appropriate tools and equipment
• Interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions and bills of materials
• Handle delicate, high-value components with care and precision
• Complete production records and manufacturing documentation accurately
• Follow ESD, quality assurance and health and safety procedures
• Support continuous improvement activities within the production environment
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work area

• Previous experience in electro-mechanical assembly, electronics manufacturing or precision engineering
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation
• Experience using hand tools and basic measuring equipment
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Ability to work accurately while maintaining high quality standards
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently following training
• Desirable: soldering and wiring experience, PCB and electronic assembly experience, knowledge of static-free manufacturing environments, and experience assembling cameras, imaging systems or optical equipment
