Physical AI Field Design Engineer/OpenCV/Object Detection/Video Analytics

Physical AI Field Design Engineer. Inside IR35, Hybrid Remote, Onsite and travelling. Superb London based client are looking for an engineer who thrives where AI meets the real world? We're looking for a Physical AI Field Design Engineer to design, deploy and scale cutting-edge AI solutions for industrial environments across manufacturing, energy, logistics, transportation and smart infrastructure.

The Role

You'll be the bridge between the physical and digital worlds - taking sensor data from cameras, LiDAR, drones and robots and turning it into Real Time operational intelligence. Working directly with customers and engineering teams, you'll lead everything from discovery workshops and proof-of-concept builds through to full production deployment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and deploying Physical AI solutions for industrial and operational environments
• Building and optimising computer vision models for inspection, object detection, tracking, anomaly detection and video analytics
• Deploying AI workloads on edge platforms (NVIDIA Jetson) and integrating with enterprise cloud systems
• Developing robotic and autonomous systems using ROS/ROS2
• Integrating cameras, LiDAR, PLCs, SCADA and industrial automation platforms
• Building edge-to-cloud architectures for scalable AI operations
• Leading customer workshops, translating business challenges into AI solutions

What We're Looking For

• Computer Vision: OpenCV, Object Detection, Video Analytics
• Machine Learning: PyTorch/TensorFlow
• Edge AI/Embedded ML: NVIDIA Jetson, TensorRT, ONNX
• Robotics: ROS/ROS2, SLAM
• Industrial IoT: Camera, LiDAR, Sensor Fusion, Telemetry
• Programming: Python and C++
• Digital Twins & Simulation: NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim
• Industrial Automation: PLC, SCADA, OPC-UA, MQTT

Bonus Points For

• Experience in Manufacturing, Steel, Mining, Energy or Industrial Automation
• Background in robotic vision systems, drones or autonomous systems
• MLOps, Docker, Kubernetes or Azure AI experience
