Reporting Specialist | Remote working after initial training | Cambridgeshire | Immediate start available| 12-month contract| Salary up to £40,000

Seymour John are supporting a growing organisation in the compliance and technology space to hire a hands-on Reporting Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working deeply with data - extracting it, manipulating it, and turning it into clean, accurate, client-ready outputs.

You will act as the key link between internal teams and external stakeholders, producing a mixture of scheduled and ad-hoc reports based on raw data pulled directly from internal databases.

Key responsibilities:

  • Extracting and manipulating data from internal systems using SQL, scripts and direct queries
  • Producing high-quality reports in Excel and Word, transforming raw data into clear, client-ready formats
  • Delivering both scheduled and ad-hoc reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency and excellent presentation
  • Acting as a technical reporting liaison between internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Managing inbound data, maintaining version control and audit trails for all reporting outputs
  • Supporting improvements to reporting processes and templates to drive efficiency

What are we looking for?

  • Advanced Excel skills - confident using formulas, manipulating large datasets, and cleaning/structuring data
  • Strong SQL experience - able to write and adapt basic queries, and extract data directly from databases
  • Proven experience extracting, querying and transforming raw datasets
  • A highly logical, detail-focused and process-driven approach to work
  • Strong communication skills to understand stakeholder needs and clarify reporting requirements
  • Experience in reporting, data analysis, or a technical/operations role with a strong data component
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple deadlines

Desirable but not essential:

  • Background in compliance, risk, software services, Client Success or Account Management

Interview Process:

  • Introductory Call – Initial pre-screening call via phone or Microsoft Teams with Joe Woodall or Lee Walker at Seymour John. This is an opportunity to discuss your experience, the role requirements, and ask any initial questions
  • If progressing, you will be asked to complete a data-focused task and provide examples of previous reporting or analytical work for the hiring manager to review.
  • The final stage is a Microsoft Teams interview with the hiring managers, where you will explore the role in more detail and assess mutual suitability.
