I'm partnering with a leading Microsoft Partner to appoint an experienced Technical Architect to support a major enterprise Power Platform programme. This role offers the opportunity to lead architecture, performance optimisation, and technical delivery across a complex Power Platform estate, working alongside senior stakeholders and specialist teams in a highly collaborative environment.

This position would suit a seasoned architect who combines strong technical leadership with hands-on expertise across Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, integrations, and platform governance.

As Technical Architect, you will take ownership of the overall technical architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, high-performing, and aligned with enterprise standards. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, technical leads, developers, and SMEs to drive successful delivery while continuously improving platform performance and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end technical architecture and design of Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, security models, and downstream integrations.
  • Assess and evaluate platform performance across Power Platform applications, identifying bottlenecks, latency issues, and scalability concerns.
  • Investigate application telemetry, workflow activity, API usage patterns, and operational metrics to diagnose and resolve performance-related challenges.
  • Produce detailed technical assessments and actionable recommendations, prioritising improvements based on business value, risk, and delivery effort.
  • Act as the primary technical authority, ensuring solutions align with architectural principles, security requirements, and governance frameworks.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to align technical enhancements with wider platform strategy and roadmap objectives.
  • Translate business and data requirements into comprehensive technical specifications, solution designs, and integration models.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to development and QA teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Serve as the key escalation point for complex technical issues, supporting teams through design, build, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Oversee technical planning, sprint activities, dependency management, design reviews, and architecture governance processes.
  • Maintain high-quality architecture documentation, integration specifications, data mappings, and deployment runbooks to support ongoing platform support and evolution.

Required Experience

  • Strong expertise across:
  • Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven Apps)
  • Power Automate
  • Dataverse
  • Power Platform governance and security frameworks
  • Demonstrable experience identifying, troubleshooting, and remediating performance issues within enterprise Power Platform environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture, including REST APIs, data distribution patterns, and system interoperability.
  • Experience delivering solutions within complex business environments involving compliance, audit, governance, or entitlement requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience creating architecture, technical documentation, solution designs, and integration specifications.
  • Strong Agile delivery experience, working within structured project and programme environments.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on HR, workforce management, talent management, compensation, or organisational change programmes.
  • Background within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Power BI experience, particularly around operational reporting and compliance dashboards.
  • Knowledge of Java-based API services and enterprise integration frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications would be advantageous.
