Solution Architect - SC Cleared
This is an opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to lead a greenfield digital programme at the very cutting edge of technology. The successful candidate will bring strong stakeholder leadership skills alongside a deep software engineering and government background, enabling them to validate the technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the overall solution and technical direction, leveraging modern tools, platforms, and frameworks
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to delivery teams operating in an agile environment
- Continuously refine technical designs using feedback throughout the full project lifecycle
- Develop and own the technical strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
- Proactively identify architectural risks and weaknesses, and lead the development of effective mitigations
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders
- Establish and enforce architectural governance, standards, and assurance processes
Required Experience
- Proven experience leading the design and delivery of bespoke digital solutions and platform services
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, microservices architectures, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience designing and implementing design systems, ideally within a military or defence context
- Demonstrated delivery of digital services in line with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards
- Solid appreciation of security standards applicable to military or sensitive public-sector digital services
- Deep technical background, including hands-on software development within digital service environments
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead both technical and business teams to successful outcomes
- Required: Active SC clearance, gained within the MoD or a comparable government department

- Rate offered: Up to £585 per day
- IR35 Status: Outside
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: 1 day per week onsite in Hampshire
- Initial Duration: 12 Months (Significant opportunity for extension)
