Java Software Engineer (Maternity Cover) – Hybrid
Location: Stockley Park, Uxbridge (Hybrid) 2 days expected in the office with 3 at home
Contract: Fixed-Term 14 months (Maternity Cover)
Department: European Solutions Business Centre (ESBC)
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join our European Solutions Business Centre (ESBC) team. In this role, you'll create, enhance, and support globally distributed software solutions for Sharp, working with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative, Agile environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain applications using Java, HTML, and CSS.
- Contribute to software architecture design and develop proof-of-concept code for new features.
- Work closely with product owners and Agile teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Support localisation, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
- Investigate and resolve bugs, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
What We're Looking For
- 5–7 years' experience in Java development and front-end technologies (Angular desirable).
- Strong knowledge of Java, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and Cloud technologies (Azure).
- Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
- Familiarity with software design patterns (MVC, Singleton, Factory).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable:
Experience with Agile methodologies, Git, SOAP/WSDL, virtual environments, and network protocols.
