IT Support Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced IT Support Team Lead to oversee and develop an on‐site support team, delivering a consistently high‐quality and personable IT service to our client. This is a hands‐on leadership role where you’ll set direction, motivate your team, and ensure services are delivered in line with business strategy and client expectations.

You’ll be a visible and trusted presence within the client environment, combining strong people leadership with solid technical understanding to build a happy, capable and continuously improving team. Your focus will be on creating an environment where individuals develop, standards are consistent, and client satisfaction remains high.

The role

As IT Support Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading, developing and inspiring the on‐site team, ensuring they are well equipped to provide effective, reliable and valued IT support. You’ll drive performance through clear standards, strong communication and a positive team culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement development plans for all roles within the on‐site team, strengthening skills, knowledge and flexibility
  • Lead the implementation of strategy, ensuring standardised, consistent and efficient support services
  • Monitor, analyse and report on team performance, taking proactive action to continuously improve service quality
  • Act as a visible, approachable and trusted member of the client’s service management team
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues through clear and effective communication
  • Manage day‐to‐day team activity, ensuring the team is well resourced and equipped to deliver outstanding support

About you

  • At least 2 years’ experience managing or leading a team
  • Friendly, approachable and empathetic leadership style with excellent communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT support environments, processes and procedures
  • Motivational and people‐focused, with the ability to develop individuals and create a positive team culture
  • Confident making decisions that balance team wellbeing, client needs and business priorities
