DevOps Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Define web platform architecture aligned with the business goals.
- Work with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure platforms are secure, compatible, and optimised.
- Conduct design reviews to simplify and modernise web platform infrastructure.
- Support the delivery of innovative digital solutions.
- Maintain awareness of DevOps best practices and industry trends.
- Perform other duties as required, aligned with the scope of the role.
- Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with business teams and third parties.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to requests from management or the business.
- Shape and nurture a positive technical culture within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver user-focused experiences.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Engage stakeholders to guide digital solution decisions and explain IT/web concepts clearly.
- Foster collaboration and strong business partnerships within the team and across the organisation.
- Support team members and contribute to overall team success.
- Identify training needs and support upskilling within the team.
- Act responsibly and professionally at all times.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of infrastructure architectures and cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform.
- Knowledge of Agile development principles.
- Awareness of architectural impacts on performance and security.
- Strong technical documentation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
- Ownership mentality and pride in delivering high-quality solutions.
Experience
- 3–5+ years as a DevOps Engineer with a solid understanding of DevOps principles.
- Hands-on experience deploying to Azure using Terraform or Bicep.
- Implementing network and security best practices.
- Working with patterns such as Headless, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architecture.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
