Head of Infrastructure

Our clients are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of IT Infrastructure to lead a diverse team of infrastructure professionals across the UK and EU. This is a leadership and delegation-focused role, not hands-on, and requires someone who can manage delivery, challenge technical decisions, and drive innovation across infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team, including: Project Managers, Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers (UK & EU)
• Oversee infrastructure project delivery across multiple regions
• Collaborate with C-level stakeholders and business units to align IT strategy with business goals
• Evaluate and challenge proposed technical solutions and changes from the team
• Ensure robust planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades and transformations
• Maintain oversight of budgets, costs, and resource allocation
• Regular travel

Technical Environment

While not hands-on, the candidate must be able to speak confidently about and challenge decisions related to:

• On-Premise Infrastructure
• Virtualization: Citrix, VMware
• Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server
• SCCM and related enterprise tools

Candidate Profile

• Proven leadership experience in IT infrastructure across multi-site teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to challenge and guide technical teams constructively
• Comfortable with budget management and strategic planning
• Industry background is flexible – transferable IT leadership skills are key
• Willingness to travel and engage with teams across regions
