Applications Analyst
Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Applications Analyst to join our growing Digital team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development, configuration and optimisation of the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system estate. As a subject matter expert within your designated area, you will help shape the way clinical and administrative teams work, ensuring our digital systems support the highest standards of patient care.

Working closely with clinicians, operational teams, managers and digital colleagues, you will lead on the configuration, development, testing and implementation of Ambient Voice Technology (AVT) solutions, maximising the benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) available within the T-Pro product. You will help drive innovation and support the adoption of modern, efficient and safe digital workflows across the Trust.

Knowledge Requirements
- Good understanding of current NHS systems
- Understanding of change management theory and processes
- Expert understanding of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes in a hospital setting
- Expert in application configuration of systems to support clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes
- Knowledge of the application of Risk Management within an application environment
- Knowledge of different application coding methods i.e. Python, CSS, Javascript, SQL
- Understanding of NHS operational and/or clinical management
- Understanding of Information Governance
- Understanding of User Centred Design (UCD)
Skills Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills for a range of audiences, including stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to negotiate and utilise persuasive skills when engaging with senior staff and stakeholders
- Track record of stakeholder engagement high attention to detail, including production of plans subject to time pressure
- Ability to provide sound judgement and give professional advice and support
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially proficiency with MS Excel
- Advanced IT skills, with a focus on EPR system configuration, optimisation, and aligning clinical and administrative needs
- Analytical and business process skills to assess, optimise, and translate complex clinical workflows into effective system configurations
- Ability to present and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, using initiative to drive system improvements
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and multiple tasks, maintaining composure under pressure
- Ability to focus on complex data and process analysis for extended periods, even in high-pressure environments
- Process mapping and/or business analyst skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies including process improvement
- Excellent in the use of different application coding methods (i.e. Python, CSS, Javascript, SQL) within clinical and administrative health applications
Qualifications
- Education to post-graduate diploma level or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Project management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile PM, MSP or other
- A degree, preferably in IT, Health Informatics, or a related field
- ITIL Foundation Certificate or equivalent relevant experience gained through experience working in an ITIL based environment
Experience
- Experience of project management or buiness change implementation
- Supervisory / Team management experience
- Significant experience of working within the health services environment, with clear experience within the application configuration
- Demonstrable experience of understanding and acting upon complex information
- Experience of EPR or other complex system delivery
Contractual Requirements
- Ability to work the hours required, to ensure satisfactory performance of duties
- Ability to work flexibly, outside normal office hours, in order to suit the needs of the users and or support implementation
- Ability to travel between trust sites
