ShortList Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Python Developer to join a market-leading tech firm on a remote-first basis.

An established tech-led business is expanding its production-scale AI voice assistant platform and is looking for an experienced Python Developer to help enhance and grow the system. You'll work across real-time voice processing, agent logic and integrations that power thousands of interactions daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain core components of a large-scale Python-based AI agent platform
  • Work on voice processing, agent orchestration, task scheduling and API integrations
  • Improve performance, reliability and scalability across the system
  • Contribute to AI/LLM-driven feature development
  • Follow secure development and data governance best practices

Essential Skills:

  • Strong experience with Python, including asyncio and concurrency
  • Experience with Docker, containerised applications and MongoDB
  • Knowledge of REST API development and integrating external services
  • Experience with pytest, Git and modern engineering practices
  • Practical experience with LLM prompt design and optimisation
  • Strong understanding of security principles and safe data handling

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with telephony or voice/SMS APIs
  • Exposure to commercial LLM platforms or inference engines
  • Experience with speech-to-text / text-to-speech SDKs
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with observability tools used in AI/LLM environments
  • Experience with task schedulers, cron jobs or webhook-based workflows
  • Optional frontend experience (e.g. Vue, Streamlit)

The Python Developer role is remote-first, with ad hoc visits to the Chester-based office. The role is paying a salary up to £70,000 plus great benefits.
