Interim Tranformation Consultant

Interim Transformation Consultant

£700–£800/day | 6–12 Month Contract | PE-Backed Energy Business

We’re working with a PE-backed energy business of c.100 employees that is looking for a hands-on Transformation Consultant to bring greater structure, governance and momentum to a portfolio of business-critical change initiatives.

Working closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership team, you’ll take an end-to-end view of the transformation agenda — assessing demand and business cases, prioritising initiatives, establishing pragmatic project governance and then helping drive delivery through to implementation.

The portfolio includes a range of business-critical projects, including CRM transformation, implementation of a new documentation management platform, FP&A system implementation, ERP process improvements and procurement, building on a recently completed digital maturity assessment.

The role will involve:

  • Establishing a clear transformation/PMO framework, governance and reporting cadence.
  • Assessing incoming project demand and developing/ reviewing business cases.
  • Prioritising initiatives based on strategic value, resources, cost and business impact.
  • Creating structure around the existing portfolio and providing clear visibility of progress, risks and dependencies.
  • Working with project owners and senior stakeholders to drive initiatives forward.
  • Taking ownership of selected projects where hands-on delivery is required.
  • Supporting procurement activity and supplier selection where appropriate.
  • Translating the findings of the digital maturity assessment into a pragmatic transformation roadmap.
  • Providing regular updates to the Finance Director and senior leadership team.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong PMO, transformation or change management experience.
  • Can establish pragmatic governance and demand management rather than creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Is comfortable assessing and prioritising a varied portfolio of projects.
  • Can move between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
  • Has the gravitas to work directly with senior leadership while being comfortable rolling up their sleeves.
  • Thrives in a smaller organisation where you’ll be the person creating structure and making things happen.
  • Ideally has previous experience working within a PE-backed environment.
  • Experience across systems transformation, ERP, CRM, FP&A or procurement would be advantageous.
