Sales Consultant

Simple Recruitment are looking for a Sales Consultant for a permanent opportunity with our client covering the Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire area.

The Job:

To ensure that personal sales targets (including upgrades and add-on sales) are met and that high standards of service and advice are provided to customers and prospective customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage strong relationships with existing and prospective customers to maximise sales opportunities, including upgrades and add-on services, always maintaining a professional approach.
  • Prepare accurate and commercially sound sales proposals that meet agreed profit margins.
  • Ensure a seamless customer experience post-sale, coordinating installation and training to be delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Maintain and continuously develop in-depth knowledge of product ranges and associated ICT systems, alongside enhancing sales and marketing skills.
  • Contribute proactively to company strategy, business planning, and the ongoing improvement of processes.
  • Adhere to all office procedures, ensuring customer and supplier confidentiality is always maintained.
  • Always present a professional image, demonstrating punctuality and reliability.
  • Attend and actively participate in training and development activities as required.
  • Handle customer complaints in a calm, professional, and solution-focused manner, ensuring timely resolution and escalation to senior management where necessary.
  • Engage positively in performance appraisals, taking ownership of agreed development actions.
  • Maintain any company or personal vehicle used for business in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition, in line with company policy.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and company guidelines, taking personal responsibility for your own safety and that of others.

  • Ensure compliance with Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required within the scope of the role.

The Salary:

£29,500 basic with an OTE of £55,000 per annum

The Hours:

Full time Monday to Friday with typically 4 days field based

About you:

  • Field sales experience – Proven track record of working in a field-based sales role, managing client relationships face-to-face and driving revenue growth.
  • B2B sales experience – Strong background in business-to-business sales, with the ability to engage key decision-makers, build long-term partnerships, and close deals effectively.
  • Location – Ideally based within a commutable distance to cover locations across Somerset, Dorset and the Wiltshire area.
  • New business focus – Role is heavily focused on new business development, requiring a proactive approach to prospecting, generating leads, and expanding the client base.
