The Company

Simsol is a reseller of engineering software and has been around since 1997, helping customers with their manufacturing and engineering challenges. We are small team of engineers and geeks who work hard but within a relaxed working environment. We specialise in re-selling niche software and consulting services to a vast group of different customers including automotive, aerospace & defence, food & beverage and ‘nuts & bolts’ type companies. Our team is mostly remote, and the expectation is that this role will also be remote.

The Candidate

We are on the lookout for a motivated and problem-solving orientated individual who wants to progress their career in the Planning, Scheduling (APS) & Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) industry. This role is a mixture of customer facing and hands on configuring, programming (where needed) and implementing these systems. If you like to have varied and challenging role this is for you!

The ideal person for this role will have:

  • A degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering or computer science.
  • Ideally some experience within Planning, Scheduling or Manufacturing Execution Systems. Graduates with no experience and a desire to learn the toolsets and industry applications can also apply.
  • Practical problem-solving approach.
  • Text based programming, PLC programming or low code programming knowledge.
  • Experience in manufacturing and logistics.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise and get things done.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Attention to detail.

The role

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Learning the APS & MES toolsets so that you can become a subject matter expert.
  • Providing technical demonstrations of the software to customers.
  • Technically scoping project work for customers.
  • Developing and delivering APS & MES implementations.
  • Supporting customers with technical queries.
  • Training and on-boarding customers.
  • Customer site visits from time to time.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK as visa sponsorship cannot be provided.

The package

  • 28K - 32K salary dependant on experience
  • Christmas closure – normally 4 days.
  • 20 days holiday.

Location

This is a remote role however there will be an expectation that the individual travels to our Manchester office from time to time.
