Project Manager (Fixed Term Contract)

About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join us for a 12 month period on a Fixed Term Contract. The Project Manager is responsible all aspects of managing controlled delivery of projects within the transformation and integration programme.
The role will involve Manage complex business change projects (with a large systems/systems integration element) with adherence to company and industry best practise methodology. The role will work closely with other members of the PMO including Business and Technical Analysts, other Project Managers and Senior Stakeholders to ensure the agreed project scope is delivered to time, cost and quality.
Role Requirements
- Successfully deliver projects to time, quality, benefits and budget.
- Determine the overall project duration, when activities and events are planned to happen, including the identification of activities and their logical dependencies, and estimation of activity durations.
- Review and prepare project briefings and reports, presenting recommendation / action improvement plan/remedial activity as necessary.
- As required use analysis techniques and technical understanding/background to assist the project team in delivering the project and assist in the creation of analysis documents as necessary.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners, and suppliers to ensure delivery of work packages to time, quality and cost.
- Continuously review processes, proposing improvements and efficiency initiatives, identify any process failure and work across the team and business to resolve.
- Ensure project governance and controls procedures are applied to generate effective quality checks, risk and issue identification.
- Ensure that all changes made to a project’s scope, time, cost and quality objectives are identified, evaluated, approved, rejected or deferred
- Identify project risks and issues, to ensure mitigation and/or escalation is applied.
- Ensure and assist in the following of good practice for software/systems development and implementation.
- Compliance with company information security policies and procedures, reporting incidents and ensuring necessary security procedures or activities are completed
- Creation of high-quality project artefacts, e.g. mandates, project & test plans, benefit statements, stakeholder and board updates, exception reports.
- Identify and confirm that suitable funding for each project is available before commencing project activity.
- Proactively manage project budgets and liaise with budget sponsors where necessary.
Measures of success:
Performance will be measured and assessed in the following ways:
- Assigned projects delivered to time, quality, cost, scope and benefit realisation.
- Quality of project management artefacts produced as agreed with the Programme Director.
- Project boards held every two weeks the quality of board pack produced and board presentations.
- Quality, detail and thoroughness of Stakeholder and Governance Board updates; project plan, status indicators, risks, issues, decisions, changes and board actions.
- Feedback from team members, peers and senior stakeholders on or affected by assigned projects.
- Attendance at weekly team meetings and contribution to continuous team improvement.
We're looking for someone who is...
- Degree educated in a related discipline with applied industry experience
- Has experience of working on projects that cover the relocation of services within data centres facilities that include Cloud and Connectivity
- With a good understanding of IT systems design and integration to linked solutions. Networking; Server; Database; Application; Virtualisation; Cloud.
- They are strong at leading, monitoring, and motivating different teams across an organisation and interacting with staff at all levels.
- Have experience of complex technology enabled E2E business processes and evaluating complex situations using diverse sources of information
- Excellent analytical and problem solving capability within a technical environment
- A strong leader and has the ability to communicate up to C level –gravitas, respect and credibility with team members, peers and senior stakeholders.
- Able to evidence of successful contribution to project teams, both commercially and technically
- Desire and ability to work in a very fast moving and demanding environment
