Business Operations Associate (Junior)
Business Operations Associate (Junior)
£30-£35k DOE.
Sixty Learn is a young two-person startup building AI-powered learning technology — already working with global organisations like the House of Commons, Network Rail, Nestlé, and Nationwide.
Now we’re hiring our first team member. You won’t be joining a department. You’ll be joining the business.
One day you might be sorting invoicing or building a cash flow view. The next, creating a sales pack, testing a product feature, or setting up a client pilot.
It’s fast, varied, and sometimes messy — but you’ll see how a startup actually works, not just one small part of it.
If that sounds like your kind of environment, keep reading.
A bit more about us:
- We specialise in learning around ‘soft’ and ‘people’ skills — the things education doesn’t traditionally teach you.
- Our areas of focus are early careers and frontline training — where our mobile tech thrives.
- We have 3 core platforms, supported by people services — we help our clients with content creation & live events to support the uptake of our software.
What you’ll get:
- You’ll work directly with the founders every day — no layers, no middle management.
- Real ownership — you won’t just “help out”, you’ll own things that matter from day one.
- Full business exposure — finance, sales, product, marketing, operations, you’ll get hands-on experience across all of it.
- A steep learning curve — this role will stretch you. We’ll support you, but we won’t spoon-feed you.
What you’ll do:
The honest answer: whatever the business needs. But realistically, it breaks down to:
Operations & client work
- Managing supplier and client onboarding, including data and cyber requirements
- Building sales packs and supporting client bids and proposals
- Building and maintaining our CRM
Finance
- Running core financial processes — invoicing, cash flow tracking and forecasting. You don't need an accounting background; you need to be comfortable with numbers and willing to learn the tools.
Marketing & events
- Creating LinkedIn content and supporting marketing campaigns
- Helping plan and deliver events and webinars
Product & delivery
- Supporting project delivery — creating training content, templates, helping turn round client work
- Supporting product development, testing, feeding in ideas, flagging what's not working
Internal
- Building internal workflows and systems using AI tools (we build AI products; we also use them everywhere internally)
The individual who’ll thrive in this role:
You take ownership. You figure things out. You don't wait to be told what to do.
Ideal candidate profile (we don't expect you to tick every box):
- Experience owning and delivering something — we care less about what it was than what you genuinely delivered.
- Comfortable applying Gen-AI tools to real work — we're an AI company, so genuine fluency matters.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with complex problems and a fast learner.
- Strong written and verbal communication — you’re clear, concise, engaging.
- Comfortable with numbers and basic data analysis — finance is part of the role.
- Entrepreneurial spirit — you want to build things and make a difference to the world, not just coast.
- Practical experience with Excel, Gen-AI, and workflow tools — applied to real tasks, not just coursework.
Details:
- £30-35k starting salary — dependent on experience.
- Stamford, Lincolnshire — our office location.
- Hybrid working — 3 days minimum in office per week following induction.
- Immediate start available.
- 50:50 board — we’re proud to say our board is 50% female managed.
