We’re growing our Digital Data capability and are looking for Digital Data Consultants to join SmartCo Future Health and support our EPR work across the NHS.
The role
As a Digital Data Consultant, you’ll support EPR programmes by helping ensure data is ready, reliable and usable, from early discovery and migration through to go-live and beyond.
The exact focus will vary by programme, but it typically includes data migration, validation/reconciliation, and, where in scope, reporting continuity and downstream data warehouse feeds.
Data readiness & migration
- Data discovery and profiling to support readiness and planning
- Data mapping specifications and transformation logic (including cleansing rules)
- Migration support (extract, transform, load) working alongside relevant technical teams
- Validation and reconciliation outputs (counts, exceptions, sampling plans, sign-off packs)
- Support across SIT/UAT/regression cycles, including defect logging and triage
- Using SQL (and/or relevant reporting tools) to support data profiling, validation, reconciliation and defect investigation.
- Cutover and dress rehearsal support (load plans, checks, governance inputs)
- Reporting continuity & data warehouse support (where in scope)
- Helping teams transition reporting from legacy systems to new EPR structures
- Supporting metric definitions and continuity (e.g. KPI mapping, data dictionaries)
- Supporting feeds into reporting layers / warehouse environments (validation of extracts, completeness and timeliness checks)
- Translating impacts of data structure changes for stakeholders post go-live
Data governance & assurance
- Supporting agreed data ownership, definitions and controls
- Producing clear, auditable documentation and programme artefacts
What we’re looking for
- Experience delivering data outcomes on complex digital programmes, ideally in NHS environments and/or EPR delivery
- Depth in one or more of: data migration, data quality/validation, reconciliation, reporting/BI support, data governance
- Confident communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translating data issues into actions
- Strong written and organisational skills with a structured, delivery focused approach
- Exposure to EPR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, Lorenzo, NerveCentre or similar) is essential
