Location: Blackpool or Newcastle (Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite)

Contract: Until March 2027

Rate: £700 per day Umbrella (Non-Negotiable)

IR35: Inside IR35

We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to join a major digital programme supporting and enhancing critical enterprise database and infrastructure services.

The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in Oracle technologies, cloud platforms, and infrastructure automation, with experience delivering highly available and secure database solutions within complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery and support of infrastructure services and solutions.

Drive improvements across data platform services and database environments.

Act as a major incident manager and escalation point for critical service issues.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineering teams.

Manage supplier relationships and ensure services align with best practice and contractual obligations.

Contribute to risk management activities and technical governance.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders on technical strategy, design decisions, and implementation approaches.

Essential Skills Experience

Oracle Database

Extensive Oracle RDBMS experience (11.2 - 23ai).

Oracle RAC, ASM, AFD, HANFS and TAF.

Dataguard setup, configuration and administration.

RMAN backup and recovery.

Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

Database patching and upgrades.

Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical database estates.

Oracle Multitenant, TDE and TLS experience desirable.

Linux and/or AIX operating systems.

Cloud Infrastructure

Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS.

Exadata and OCI Base Database configuration.

Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.

Git repository management and version control.
