Solution Architect (Data, VMWare, Kubernetes, Security Cleared) - Hybrid/Hampshire

£1,100 per day (Inside IR35)

Hampshire | Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)

Active SC MOD Clearance Required due to urgency.


We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a major programme within a highly secure Defence environment.

You'll play a key role in shaping the overall solution architecture, defining the future-state architecture vision and roadmap, and ensuring solutions align with business, technical, and security requirements. A key aspect of the role will be translating requirements into Information Exchange Requirements (IERs) to support data integration and interoperability across multiple project use cases.

You'll also support Technical Design Authority (TDA) reviews, provide architectural governance, and contribute to technical discussions spanning infrastructure, platforms, applications, and data services.

Key Responsibilities

Define and maintain end-to-end solution architectures.Develop the future architecture vision, target state, and roadmap.

Translate requirements into IERs for data feed integrations and interoperability.

Support Technical Design Authority (TDA) reviews and governance.

Provide architectural guidance across infrastructure, data, platform, and application domains.

Assess solution options, risks, dependencies, and technical impacts.

Collaborate with engineering, delivery, security, and infrastructure teams.

Skills Experience

Proven experience as a Solution Architect within complex enterprise environments.

Strong understanding of on-premise infrastructure, particularly VMware-based environments.

Experience with containerised application architectures and modern application delivery practices.

Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms.

Experience designing and integrating Data Fabric solutions, including:

Real Time data streaming

API-led integration

Data connectors and integration services

Cross-platform data movement and interoperability

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices supporting automated build, test, and deployment.

Experience operating across infrastructure, data, platform, and application architecture domains.
