Technical Programme Manager-DV-National Security-Milton Keynes
We are recruiting for a DV Cleared Senior Technical Programme Manager, National Security, STEM, to support the delivery of complex technical and security capabilities within a highly secure environment.
Based Milton Keynes. Commutable from Northampton, Luton, Peterborough, Bedford,Towcester, Luton, Aylesbury, Bicester, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Banbury, Rugby£695 a day (umbrella)
Working in a DV Cleared (Developed Vetting) environment. DV Clearance is essential-single British nationals only (or eligible).
Essential Experience
Experience providing technical leadership, governance, and assurance across complex engineering, technology, defence, security, or national security programmes.
Strong understanding of systems engineering, technology development, integration, testing, evaluation, and deployment.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams in complex operational environments.
Ability to provide independent technical advice and influence senior stakeholders.
Excellent understanding of programme and project management principles, governance, and assurance frameworks.
Experience assessing technical risks, engineering trade-offs, and emerging technologies.
Degree-level qualification in a STEM discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable Experience
Defence, Intelligence, National Security, Government, or Critical National Infrastructure environments.
Systems Engineering, Technical Assurance, or Capability Transition programmes.
Experience supporting secure technology deployments and operational capability delivery.
Membership of a relevant professional institution.
This role requires an experienced programme leader with strong technical credibility, capable of providing leadership, governance, assurance, and delivery oversight across a portfolio of capability development and transition projects. You will work closely with engineering, scientific, operational, and commercial teams to ensure solutions are technically robust, operationally effective, and successfully transitioned into service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and assurance across complex engineering, technology, and security programmes.
Review and challenge technical designs, architectures, and implementation approaches.
Lead the identification, assessment, and management of technical risks.
Support business cases, investment decisions, and delivery strategies through technical evaluation
Ensure compliance with technical, security, safety, and operational standards.
Assess supplier performance and provide technical oversight of external delivery partners.
Deliver technical briefings, recommendations, and assurance to senior stakeholders and governance boards.
