DevOps Lead Engineer (AWS + Azure)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Lead Engineer with strong hands-on experience across Microsoft Azure and AWS to deliver secure cloud infrastructure, platform, and application hosting solutions within enterprise and regulated environments.
The role combines cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, security, networking, and project delivery. You will work closely with architects, project managers, security teams, operations, customers, and third-party suppliers throughout the cloud transformation, migration, and modernisation life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver secure Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure and hosting solutions from design through to operational handover.
- Work within Agile project teams, contributing to sprint planning, delivery, reviews, and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement secure cloud networking, including hub-and-spoke, virtual networking, routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity.
- Deploy and manage IaaS, PaaS, cloud-native, and containerised workloads.
- Work with Azure VMs, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), AWS EC2, AKS, EKS, and Kubernetes.
- Implement cloud identity, authentication, authorisation, privileged access, and secure access controls.
- Work with Microsoft Entra ID, AWS Identity Center, Okta, and enterprise identity solutions.
- Implement appropriate security and governance controls for sensitive environments, including separation of management and data-plane access.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitLab.
- Automate cloud infrastructure and deployment activities using Python and DevOps tooling.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and operational dashboards using platforms such as Azure Monitor and Splunk.
- Support application deployment and operational readiness activities.
- Work closely with customers, architects, project managers, security teams, vendors, and service delivery teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and engineering best practices.
- Ensure successful transition of delivered cloud services into operational support.
