Global IT Director

Global IT Director | Salary £120–£125k | Hybrid working (London)

We’re supporting an established international organisation in the appointment of a Global IT Director to lead its technology function and drive digital transformation across global operations.

This is a senior leadership role focused on developing and delivering a business-led IT strategy, improving the adoption and effectiveness of existing technology, and driving measurable improvements through AI, automation and data. The successful candidate will lead an international IT team, strengthen technology capability and help the business maximise the value of its systems and technology investments.

Working closely with Executive leadership and stakeholders across operational, commercial and corporate functions, you will combine strategic direction with hands-on delivery, ensuring technology supports business growth, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Global IT Director – Key accountabilities:

• Work closely with Executive leadership to identify business priorities and ensure technology investment delivers tangible commercial and operational benefits.
• Oversee the performance, security and reliability of enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud services and wider IT operations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline business processes, improve productivity and reduce reliance on manual activities through digital solutions.
• Provide leadership and direction to an international IT team, developing capability, accountability and a high-performance culture.
• Shape and implement a global technology strategy that supports business objectives, future growth and operational efficiency.
• Champion the practical application of AI, automation and data analytics to improve business performance and decision-making.
• Lead technology improvement programmes, ensuring effective implementation, user engagement and adoption across the organisation.
• Take responsibility for IT governance, cyber security, data protection, business continuity and technology risk management.
• Manage technology budgets, supplier relationships and strategic investments, establishing clear measures of performance and return on investment.

Candidate requirements:

• Proven experience operating at IT Director, Global IT Director, Head of IT or equivalent senior technology leadership level.
• Strong track record of delivering digital transformation and business change, with demonstrable improvements in efficiency, productivity or operational performance.
• Experience leading IT functions across international, multi-site or complex organisational environments.
• Broad understanding of enterprise IT environments, including ERP and business applications, cloud infrastructure, cyber security and IT service delivery.
• Experience applying AI, automation, data or digital solutions to deliver measurable business benefits.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage technology budgets and oversee third-party suppliers.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence Executive-level stakeholders.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused leadership style, with the ability to translate technology strategy into practical business improvements.
• Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
