Overview
We are working with a leading enterprise organisation seeking an experienced IT / Platform Engineering Manager to lead high-performing engineering teams responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining critical platforms. This is a key leadership role suited to someone with a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), enterprise IT environments, and modern cloud-based & On-prem infrastructure. This wont be hands on, it will be managing, managers,teams & MSP's.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage platform engineering and SRE teams within a large-scale organisation
• Drive reliability, scalability, and performance across critical systems and services
• Define and implement SRE best practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and incident management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and business units
• Oversee cloud infrastructure strategy, optimisation, and cost efficiency
• Ensure alignment with IT service management frameworks, including ITIL
• Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers where applicable

Key Requirements

• Proven experience managing engineering or SRE teams in a large, complex organisation
• Strong background in platform engineering, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and modern infrastructure
• Solid understanding of ITIL frameworks and IT service management principles
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of building and scaling teams
• Experience driving operational excellence, incident response, and system reliability
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical oversight
