Hybrid (3 days on site)
£70,000 - £95,000 salary DOE + benefits
Our client are developing cutting edge hybrid control and inverter systems that power everything from high performance motorsport platforms to next gen passenger EVs, and we're looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the charge!
This is a chance to work on technically complex, high impact systems at the edge of what’s possible in electric propulsion. You'll be part of a growing engineering function where your decisions shape architecture, performance, and future direction.
In this role, you’ll:

• Lead the full systems V-cycle: concept through to production
• Own architecture, requirements (DOORS, Polarion), and functional safety (ISO26262)
• Drive model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink
• Mentor and guide a small talented team and be part of recruiting and growing it
• Collaborate closely with controls, software, and hardware teams

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong systems engineering and requirements management experience
• Model-based control expertise for complex electro-mechanical systems
• A hands-on, mentoring leadership style
• Knowledge of inverter systems and hybrid vehicle applications
• Familiarity with SysML, DVP, and embedded software environments
