Engineering Manager – Mobile (Android & iOS)

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (Mobile) to lead the development and operation of high-traffic Android and iOS applications used daily by millions of users across multiple European markets.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide a cross-functional squad, drive technical excellence, and shape the future of mobile products in a fast-moving, agile environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and inspire a cross-functional engineering team delivering mobile applications at scale
• Own and deliver the squad roadmap for News & Sports mobile experiences
• Champion engineering best practices, Agile delivery, and high-quality, on-time releases
• Lead technical planning, architecture, coding standards, testing, and implementation
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Delivery, and Engineering leaders to align execution with business strategy
• Use engineering metrics to inform decisions and continuously improve team performance
• Advocate for technical improvements that enhance product quality, performance, and reliability
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and team growth initiatives
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and supplier management
• Act as technical Service Owner for change and incident management, including escalation and on-call coordination

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in technical leadership roles, managing or mentoring multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong background in mobile development (Android and/or iOS) ; Backend-for-Frontend experience is a plus
• End-to-end delivery experience including UI development, accessibility, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, observability, and API/backend integration
• Experience working in Agile, product-led teams with close stakeholder collaboration
• A continuous-improvement mindset with a passion for modern engineering practices and emerging technologies
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams and functions
