UX Design Systems Manager

Location: Hybrid – Osterley (London) or Leeds

Be part of a leading European media and entertainment organisation serving millions of customers across multiple markets. We’re looking for a Design System Manager to help shape exceptional digital journeys and elevate the consistency and quality of our online platforms.

About the Role

Within our Customer Experience function, you will take ownership of the evolution and governance of our design system across web and mobile applications. You’ll lead a team of designers working in agile product environments, ensuring that every interaction reflects our brand standards and delivers measurable customer value.

This position combines team leadership, design strategy, and operational oversight. You will guide the long-term direction of the system, ensuring it scales effectively and supports product roadmaps across the UK and Ireland.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Managing and developing a small team of product designers delivering intuitive, research-driven digital experiences.
  • Setting the strategic vision and governance framework for the design system to ensure scalability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, product, research, and analytics teams to ensure performance, usability, and brand consistency.
  • Overseeing system structure, token frameworks, documentation standards, and alignment between design and implementation.
  • Embedding accessibility best practices (including WCAG 2.2 standards) across components, interaction patterns, and motion guidelines.
  • Defining customer experience metrics and linking design system adoption to measurable outcomes.
  • Exploring AI-supported workflows and partnering with Design Operations to enhance efficiency and quality.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale digital products and mature design systems across responsive web and native apps.
  • Advanced knowledge of component libraries, scalable design tokens, and complex prototyping approaches.
  • Strong expertise in inclusive design and accessibility principles.
  • Experience applying user research insights and behavioural analytics to inform design decisions.
  • A track record of effective collaboration with engineering teams on component development and governance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for design excellence.
  • Resilience and adaptability in fast-moving product environments.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the office.
