Project Manager – Manchester – Hybrid - £70,000
This role is for a proper delivery PM, not a status-update merchant.
You'll be joining a FinTech business that already has an established product and strong product/engineering teams, and is winning work hand over fist. The focus now is making delivery scale properly.
They're early in standing up a PMO, so this is about bringing structure, governance and confidence to delivery — without slowing the business down.
What you'll actually own
- End-to-end delivery: scope, plan, budget, timeline, quality
- Governance that works: RAID, reporting cadence, escalation
- Senior stakeholders across business, tech and third parties
- Complex dependencies and pressured delivery environments
- Agile / Waterfall / hybrid — pragmatically, not religiously
Experience that matters
- Proven delivery ownership in FinTech / regulated financial services
- Delivery of POS / transactional platforms
- Comfortable when things aren't neatly defined and priorities move
What separates the strong from the average
- Real API integration or system migration delivery
- Exposure to regulated environments (FCA, data protection, customer outcomes)
- Experience helping shape a PMO / delivery function
- Evidence you've improved delivery outcomes, not just managed activity
