We are now inviting a Conversational AI Engineer to join our UK-based team, contributing to complex digital transformation initiatives that leverage AI, voice, and speech technologies to enhance user experience and operational efficiency across the public sector and organisations of varying size and complexity.
IF YOU ARE
Proven experience designing, building, and deploying AI systems in production environments
Proficient in Python and experienced with its ML and AI ecosystem (e.g. NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Experienced in designing agentic AI workflows using frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex
Hands-on in fine-tuning LLMs to improve accuracy, reduce latency, and optimise infrastructure costs
Able to build LLM evals for reliable and stable applications
Proficient in building secure, high-performance RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Django REST Framework to connect AI services with backend systems
Experienced integrating third-party APIs and foundation models from hyperscalers such as Google (Vertex AI), Amazon (Bedrock), and Microsoft (Azure AI)
Familiar with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques and working with vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Milvus) to provide accurate, up-to-date contextual information to AI agents
Experienced in Conversational AI platforms such as Google Dialogflow, Amazon Lex, Rasa, or similar
Comfortable implementing and testing speech recognition and synthesis technologies (e.g. Whisper, Azure Speech, Google Speech-to-Text, Amazon Transcribe, Speechmatics)
Knowledgeable in AI observability and evaluation tools such as TruLens, Helicone, or Langfuse to monitor and improve LLM reliability
Familiar with AI safety, reliability, and guardrail frameworks (e.g. Guardrails AI) to ensure responsible and compliant deployments
Collaborative and communicative, able to work within multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, researchers, and designers to continuously improve AI agent performance, reasoning, and reliability
Able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, maintaining a balance between innovation and practical delivery

Design, build, and optimise Conversational AI systems that combine speech, voice, and text to deliver seamless user experiences
Implement agentic and multi-agent AI architectures, enabling complex, multi-turn reasoning and automated task execution
Fine-tune Large Language Models (LLMs) and speech models for improved accuracy, latency, and overall system efficiency
Develop evaluation and monitoring mechanisms for model reliability, drift, and bias management
Integrate AI services and APIs across multiple cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI systems align with data governance, privacy, and ethical AI principles
Experiment with emerging AI tools and frameworks, contributing to the continuous advancement of SoftServe’s AI engineering practices
Drive innovation in Conversational and Voice AI, shaping the next generation of human-AI interaction
