We are looking for a Sales Data Manager to establish and lead our Sales Data Domain. This is a strategic, cross-functional role where you will oversee the lifecycle of sales-related data, ensuring it is trusted, governed, high quality and fit for business use.

Working closely with colleagues across Data, Sales, Commercial and CRM, you will help define our vision for sales data and identify opportunities to improve its quality, accessibility and value across Softcat.

What you'll be doingEstablishing and maintaining the Sales Data Domain, including its scope, key data assets, business rules and governance processesWorking with the Data Management Lead and wider data leadership team to create a clear sales data roadmap aligned with business goalsIdentifying opportunities to improve sales data through initiatives including CRM transformation, Customer 360, Master Data Management and trusted reportingCreating and maintaining standards, policies and procedures for the ownership, handling and use of sales dataDefining and monitoring data quality measures and driving activity to resolve underlying data issuesImplementing controls that improve the completeness, accuracy, consistency and timeliness of sales dataSupporting compliance with data governance, security and data protection requirementsCollaborating with Data Visualisation, Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to improve data availability and usability [Sales Data...nager - JD | Word]Building strong relationships with Sales Leadership, Commercial teams, CRM stakeholders and other Data Domain ManagersActing as the main point of contact for sales data queries, issues and change requestsRepresenting the Sales Data Domain within governance forums and working groupsPartnering with Sales Operations, Commercial and CRM teams to understand business processes and data requirements within Customer Central, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related platformsAssessing how organisational, process and system changes could affect sales dataWhat we need from youA strong understanding of sales processesExperience working with data in an operational, administrative, analytical or reporting environmentExperience in data management and data qualityStrong Microsoft Excel skillsKnowledge of CRM data, ideally within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a similar platformExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and a focus on maintaining accurate, complete and trusted dataExperience managing data-focused products, platforms, processes or datasetsExcellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple prioritiesThe ability to translate business requirements into practical data management solutionsConfidence communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersStrong project management, influencing and cross-functional collaboration skillsIt would be great if you also hadAn understanding of metadata, data lineage and business data definitionsKnowledge of SQLExperience with Microsoft Purview, Profisee, Power BI or similar data management and reporting toolsKnowledge of Softcat's sales, customer or commercial landscape, or experience within a similar organisationWe also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don't hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!
