Job Overview
Solcode is on a mission to make electric vehicle (EV) charging accessible, affordable, and community-driven. Alongside our flagship BESS-powered ultra-fast charging stations, we are expanding our peer-to-peer home charger network, empowering homeowners to share their 7kW chargers and earn revenue while helping neighbours access convenient local charging. As our Operations Manager, you will lead the rollout and day-to-day operations of this fast-growing home and community charging initiative. You’ll manage host onboarding, user support, platform performance, and technical coordination—ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders while driving the strategic growth of the network.
Key Responsibilities
· Onboard, train, and support thousands of hosts across the UK, ensuring safe installation and reliable performance of 7kW home chargers.
· Manage user enquiries, including payment issues, session access, and feedback—targeting 95%+ satisfaction.
· Facilitate smooth communication between hosts and chargees via the Solcode app.
· Monitor system KPIs including uptime, booking success rate, and payment processing.
· Coordinate with the product and tech teams to resolve platform or hardware issues efficiently.
· Identify and implement operational improvements to increase retention and platform engagement.
· Support the logistics of charger delivery and installation, ensuring all units meet UK safety standards.
· Liaise with partner electricians and local contractors to streamline and scale installations.
· Oversee inventory, installation lead times, and warranty or service escalations.
· Collaborate with energy providers, local councils, and community organisations to grow the host network.
· Represent Solcode in discussions with strategic partners, aiming for 20% annual growth in host base.
· Ensure all home charger installations comply with OZEV and IET electrical standards.
· Maintain safety records and manage site-specific risk assessments as needed.
· Deliver weekly reports to leadership on operational KPIs such as host growth, user activity, and session volume.
· Contribute to roadmap planning for future expansion and integration with Solcode’s wider charging ecosystem.
Qualifications and Skills
· 3–5 years in operations, ideally within tech startups, EV charging, or gig/platform-based services.
· Understanding of EV charging (7kW AC home chargers in particular), community sharing platforms, and basic electrical safety.
· Experience with digital platforms and backend systems (e.g. app-based bookings, Stripe or similar payment systems).
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination abilities.
· Data-oriented mindset with comfort using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or basic analytics dashboards.
· Proactive, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, remote working environment.
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Sustainability, or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits
· Remote-first work culture with travel expenses covered
· Up to 10% annual performance bonus
· Free or discounted EV charging access for personal use
