Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Data & M365 Migration Engineer to work on a large-scale data and identity migration project. Building directly on approved discovery outputs (including target architecture, data matrices, and transition roadmaps), you will plan, build, test, and execute the migration of users, mailboxes, files, and collaboration spaces into a secure, target Microsoft 365 environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Migration Execution & Technical Readiness: Plan, build, test, and execute the structured migration of data, identities, and collaboration services into the target tenant.

  • M365 & Data Service Migration: Perform controlled migrations across Exchange Online (individual & shared mailboxes), SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Identity & Access Management: Configure, validate, and onboard user identities, maintaining strict access governance throughout the transition.

  • Security & Compliance Control: Apply and verify target security controls, including Conditional Access policies, Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and audit logging.

  • Pilot & Data Reconciliation: Lead pilot migration runs, perform pre- and post-migration data reconciliation, capture lessons learned, and refine scripts/processes ahead of full execution.

  • Hypercare & Service Transition: Provide post-migration hypercare support, issue resolution, detailed technical documentation, and formal knowledge transfer to operational teams.

Key Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • M365 & Azure Data Migration: Proven track record delivering end-to-end Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant or source-to-target migrations.

  • Collaboration & Messaging Stack: Deep hands-on expertise with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive data migration tools and techniques.

  • Identity & Security: Strong working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access policies, Microsoft Purview, and DLP enforcement.

  • Scripting & Automation: Advanced PowerShell (and/or CLI) Scripting capabilities for automated data extraction, migration, reconciliation, and bulk user management.

  • Data Verification: Demonstrated experience in data validation, migration reconciliation techniques, and audit logging.
