Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer holding active Security Clearance (SC) to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You will work closely with development teams to automate deployment pipelines, manage containerized workloads via Kubernetes, and ensure the highest standards of security and IAM compliance in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Orchestration: Design, deploy, and manage production-grade containerized applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

CI/CD Automation: Build, maintain, and optimize secure deployment pipelines utilizing Cloud Build and Cloud Deploy.

Configuration & Package Management: Manage Kubernetes applications using Helm, Docker, and Kubectl for seamless configuration and deployment.

Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce strict least-privilege access controls using GCP Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Artifact & Storage Management: Oversee the life cycle of container images and dependencies within Google Artifact Registry (GAR) and manage cloud storage solutions via Google Cloud Storage (GCS).

Collaboration: Work alongside development and security teams to promote a strong DevSecOps culture, ensuring infrastructure is defined as code (IaC) and securely monitored.
Technical Stack & Requirements
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE): Deep operational experience with cluster management, scaling, and networking.

CI/CD Tools: Proficient in Cloud Build and Cloud Deploy for continuous integration and continuous delivery.

Security: Strong understanding of GCP Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, policies, and service accounts.

Storage & Registries: Hands-on experience with Google Artifact Registry (GAR) and Google Cloud Storage (GCS).
Containerization & Kubernetes Ecosystem

Orchestration & CLI: Expert knowledge of Kubernetes administration using Kubectl.

Packaging: Proficient in creating and managing Helm charts for complex deployments.

Containers: Strong experience with Docker for containerizing applications and optimizing multi-stage builds.
Clearance & Qualifications

Security Clearance: Must hold an active UK SC Clearance (or be eligible and willing to undergo vetting).

Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience in a DevOps/Platform Engineering role focusing on GCP and Kubernetes.

Certifications (Desirable): Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
