Solutions4Health is an innovative company with a passion and a track record for tackling health inequalities. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Stop Smoking Advisor who will motivate and support our clients in achieving their goal to stop smoking in the region of West Berkshire.
The Stop Smoking Advisor will deliver a client-led smoking cessation treatment plan via one to one, drop in or group sessions depending on the needs of the client, and monitor outcomes of treatment programmes for their effectiveness.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Explain to clients the principles of Stop Smoking Services
Supporting the Community Wellness Outreach team with smoking cessation intervention
Motivate and empower clients to make behaviour changes.
To have a clear understanding of the need of outreach services and their impact on those living in disadvantaged areas.
Plan and organise workload, this will include the management of a caseload.
Deliver one to one, drop in or group sessions, which will have emphasis on supporting clients from local communities.
Provide a high quality, efficient service throughout a diverse range of community settings
The advisor may potentially be required to work with complex health needs in relation to behaviour change.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders and partners
Ensure a commitment to own personal development by keeping up to date with research and best practice.
Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
To actively participate in promotional and campaigning events like No Smoking Day or Stoptober.
Ensure a commitment to their own personal development by keeping up to date with research and best practice.
Carry out any other duties that relate to this post and to assist the Manager to promote the service during Weekends and evenings.

Essential Skills
Relevant experience in a health or sales promotion environment.
Experience of working with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines and targets
Ability to work weekends regularly and evenings occasionally or regularly.
Flexibility to work across Berkshire.
Speak, write and read English clearly and fluently.
Motivated and friendly individual with the ability to communicate to all people in the community
Must be non-smoker
Relevant IT Skills
Desirable Skills
Educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant knowledge/experience in a health promotion environment.
Experience in smoking cessation advice or equivalent health improvement environment.
Knowledge of the problems faced by socially disadvantaged sectors of the community.
Familiarity of West Berkshire areas.
Knowledge of Stop Smoking and tobacco control policies.
Experience of understanding evaluation and monitoring
Knowledge of behaviour change models.
Smoking cessation qualification NCSCT.
Speak different languages (Polish, Urdu, Spanish, Arabic or other)
Relevant IT skills-proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Be able to work under pressure and multi-task
Passion for helping people to make positive changes
Empathetic towards others thoughts and feelings
Proactive in starting discussions around stopping smoking
