Unit Co-ordinator and Booking Officer

Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised booking officer to join our small and friendly team. You will provide a full and comprehensive administrative service for the booking of all new and follow up appointments for patients accessing day treatments and ambulatory clinic appointments.

Main duties of the job

You will take responsibility for booking appointments, both new and follow up, liaising with clinical teams to ensure appropriate scheduling. You will require good organisational skills to manage our booking systems efficiently.

Working alongside colleagues you will ensure appropriate medical records are available for patient treatments.

Managing telephone bookings as well as liaising with patients face to face.

You will provide support to cover reception duties.

Qualifications

Essential
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including English Language Grade A B C.
Desirable
  • NVQ level in Business Administration or Customer Service or equivalent.

Experience

Essential
  • Proven experience of providing customer focused service.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role within the NHS or other healthcare setting.
  • Proficient IT skills including keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft packages.
Desirable
  • Proven experience of effective communication including with distressed, anxious or angry individuals and able to escalate where appropriate.
