Infrastructure Engineer - Wintel

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer with focus on Wintel to play a key role in shaping and supporting the technology that underpins our clients’ success. You’ll bring deep expertise in infrastructure technologies, with a clear understanding of the latest industry developments and future strategies.

The role is permanent, based on-site in Salisbury or Portsdown West (Portsmouth) and requires DV security clearance. Maybe required to vary hours to cover 8am-6pm service.

What you will be doing:

• Provide technical support for Windows Server environments (2012/2019/2022).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex server, network, and infrastructure issues within agreed SLA’s.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.
• Perform server patching, upgrades, and maintenance in line with security and compliance standards.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Work with 1st and 2nd line support teams to escalate and resolve incidents within agreed SLA’s
• Maintain and update documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Support virtualization technologies (VMware).
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and best practices.
• Assist in project planning and execution for infrastructure upgrades and migrations, working with Architects and Project Managers.

What you will bring:

• Working knowledge of Windows Server administration.
• Experience managing and administering Active Directory.
• Proven experience providing IT support in an enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies.
