Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Are you a Developed Vetting (DV) Cleared Infrastructure Engineer looking for a role where you can work across project delivery, service transition and operational support within a major Defence programme?
Join a team of infrastructure professionals delivering and supporting secure messaging and infrastructure platforms operating within highly classified environments. Based on site in Hemel Hempstead you'll play a key role in building, transitioning and supporting services that underpin critical Defence and national security outcomes.
This is a varied infrastructure engineering role rather than a traditional support position. You'll be involved in the development and integration of new capabilities, the transition of services into live operation, and the ongoing enhancement of existing platforms. Working alongside experienced subject matter experts, infrastructure specialists and development teams, you'll gain exposure to a broad technology estate while continuing to develop your technical expertise within one of the UK's most secure working environments.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting the delivery, integration and transition of infrastructure services into live production.
Providing operational support and continuous improvement for secure messaging and infrastructure platforms.
Building, maintaining and enhancing infrastructure operating within highly classified Defence environments.
Working across Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, VMware, storage and virtualisation technologies.
Contributing to project delivery activities within a major greenfield Defence programme.
Supporting critical platforms that underpin Defence and national security outcomes.
What you'll bring:
Active UK DV clearance.
Experience supporting Wintel and server-based environments within complex enterprise infrastructures.
Broad infrastructure knowledge across Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Linux and networking technologies.
Experience working across multiple infrastructure technologies rather than a single technical specialism.
Knowledge of infrastructure support, system administration and platform maintenance activities.
A proactive approach to taking ownership of work and delivering against objectives.
It would be great if you had:
Knowledge of ITIL Service Management processes and practices.
Accreditation to MCP level or equivalent.
Experience of Infrastructure-as-Code or server infrastructure automation concepts.
Experience supporting secure messaging platforms.
Customer service skills and experience resolving complex technical issues.
