Service Desk Administrator

Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Service Desk Coordinator to join their growing team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to play a vital part in ensuring high levels of service delivery across engineering operations.

You’ll be responsible for coordinating engineer schedules, managing support tickets, and ensuring customer satisfaction by maintaining strong communication and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

· Coordinate and manage engineer scheduling to ensure efficient and timely service delivery

· Manage support tickets relating to field engineering, ensuring swift and effective resolution

· Monitor and coordinate part requests, ensuring compliance with SLAs

· Arrange collections from customer sites, liaising with internal teams or third-party couriers

· Provide regular updates to customers on ticket status and engineer visits

· Escalate issues appropriately to guarantee prompt resolution

· Participate in an optional paid on-call rotation (post-training) to provide out-of-hours support

Person Specification:

· Strong communication skills - both verbal and written - with a keen eye for detail

· Experience delivering support via phone and email, with a customer-first attitude

· Practical, solution-oriented mindset with excellent organisational skills

· Ability to stay calm and productive under pressure

· Confident in prioritising and escalating issues where necessary

· Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and network topology

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including shift patterns and potential on-call

· Must be able to obtain Security Clearance (or willing to undergo the process)

· ITIL certification is advantageous but not essential

· A good commute to the office is essential to support team integration and training
