As our Strategic Leakage Engineer, you'll tackle complex network challenges head-on, turning raw supply data into high-value optimisation solutions.
Working at the intersection of engineering and analytics, you'll partner with our hydraulic specialists to pinpoint inefficiencies, strategically plan DMA meter replacements, and lead capital schemes from paper to shovel.
We're looking for a technically sharp, data-fluent engineer who thrives on project delivery, someone who can dive into Maximo and as-laid plans, extract insights, and turn them into resilient infrastructure.

We're looking for a technically sharp, data-fluent engineer who thrives on project delivery, someone who can dive into Maximo and as-laid plans, extract insights, and turn them into resilient infrastructure.
Main responsibilities:
- Liaison between South East Water (SEW) departments.
- Managing projects and forecasting in conjunction with budgets for optimisation strategies.
- Scoping minor improvement works to issue to Engineering.
- Determining data requirements, including pre and post-scheme logging.
- Collating asset information, such as as-laid plans and Maximo requirements.
- Evaluating scheme benefits.
- Performing data analysis.
- Communicating all network changes to Operational teams.
- Assisting in planning the replacement of DMA meters.
- Assisting with strategic scheme selection and construction.
- Managing the flow of information to and from consultants.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
- A technical qualification and/or a relevant degree, or sufficient water network experience
- Ability to manipulate and interpret datasets from company systems, translating hydraulic and leakage data into actionable insights for network optimisation.
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in hydraulic modelling software and data management systems, ensuring accuracy in asset information, logging and forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills for managing information between consultants and liaising with SEW departments.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling and project management.
- A good understanding of the component parts of regulatory reported leakage and the techniques used to reduce leakage on a water network.
An understanding of the operational and asset management aspects of the business.
