Senior Informatic Pharmacy Technician
Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for digital systems and the evolving healthcare environment at University Hospitals Tees. The Trust provides a broad range of acute and specialist services across multiple hospital sites, creating an excellent platform for innovative thinking and the development of digital solutions that enhance patient care. Key priorities for the Trust and Pharmacy Department include the safe and effective management of Digital Medicines Management Systems, including EPMA, and the continued development of these systems to improve patient safety, streamline medicines optimisation, and support efficient clinical workflows.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based within University Hospitals Tees and willbe required to work across UHT sites to support the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing maintenance of digital pharmacy and medicines management projects. The Trust benefits from an experienced Pharmacy Digital and Informatics team that manages a comprehensive portfolio of digital medicines systems and will provide support and development opportunities for the successful candidate.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Member of Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) or equivalent professional body
Knowledge
- Management and leadership experience
- Interpersonal communication of complex information
- Supervision of staff
- Analytical and judgement skills
- Problem solving skills
- Computer literate (with ability to use Microsoft Office Programmes and familiarity with clinical systems as a user)
- Expert knowledge of medicines-related digital systems
- Stake holder management and relationship building skills
- Time management skills and organisation skills of self and others
Experience
- Experience working with a medicines-related digital system, including EPMA and associated technologies
- Experience of leading digital transformation, service improvement or informatics projects
- Experience of investigating incidents, risks and medication safety issues related to digital systems
- Experience of delivering training and education
- Experience supporting and supervising staff
