Job summary
Sunderland Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (SIMS) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Technical Instructor to join our existing multidisciplinary team (MDT). SIMS is a true MDT consisting ofhighly experiencedclinicians including a Sports and Exercise Consultant, GPs with special interest in MSK, Extended Scope Practitioners, Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors.
SIMS are dedicated to continuing professional development. We have an extensive in house training programme and strong direct links with secondary care colleagues who attend and contribute to our monthly CPD events. You would have access to an internal network of senior and specialist support including both Medical and Allied Health Professional (AHP) staff who provide leadership, educational, research and clinical support. We offer clinical supervision, coaching and mentoring and have team building and away days all to contribute to the development of SIMS staff.

Main duties of the job
The SIMS team is part on the community division. The candidate should have established MSK experience and should have good grounding in the NHS. Main duties include:
To work within SIMS providing assistance in delivering a rehabilitation service to a client group.
To provide support and assistance to the qualified therapists clinically as well as administratively
Ensuring a quality service. The aim of the service is provide rehabilitation to patients with MSK disorders
To carry out specific delegated elements of therapy assessment following standard operating procedure.
To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures as they pertain to Personnel, Health & Safety and Child, Elder Protection issues and Continuing Health Care needs.
SIMS is a forward thinking, innovative team led by our Operational Lead, Jill Clark and Clinical Lead, Dr Glen Rae (Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine). SIMS offers specialist andcomprehensive assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of MSK conditions. The service operates across Monday to Saturday including working one late night and alternative Saturday mornings.

- Ensuring a quality service. The aim of the service is to provide rehabilitation to patients with Musculoskeletal disorders.
- To carry out specific delegated elements of therapy assessment following standard operating procedure.
- The post holder will often be working alone without direct supervision of the Physiotherapist; however, advice from a Physiotherapist is available.
- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures as they pertain to Personnel, Health & Safety and Child, Elder Protection issues and Continuing Health Care needs.

Person Specification
Experience
- Evidence of interaction with the public or patients in a care setting
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Evidence of working within a therapy environment as a therapy assistant
- Recent proven experience of working with clients in a hospital or NHS organisation
- Previous experience as a technical instructor
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent (UK equivalent) (Health and Social Care qualification preferred).
- Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE A-C or equivalent)
- Recognised academic qualification in a health-related topic
- Attendance at relevant professional courses
