We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our dynamic and passionate school nursing team.
You will need excellent organisational and personal skills, be an excellent communicator who can actively promote interagency working between other professionals and educational staff.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an active member of the School Health Team working with others to promote positive outcomes for children and young people. The post holder's main duties will include supporting the school nursing team with administrative and clerical duties working with schools to support the delivery of the Department of Health, National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).

Job description
Job responsibilities
Provide clerical and administration support to the school health team, this includes excel reports, scanning documents, letters, answering and responding appropriately to telephone calls from the public and other professionals.
Order stationery as and when required
Respond appropriately to general enquiries from clients and refer when necessary to the School Nurse.
Support the team to collect data for audit and evaluations purposes.
Support the team with administration of the Online Health Questionnaires.
Recognise if children are in need of protection and report concerns to the School Nurse in line with Coventry Safeguarding Children Board policy and procedures
Maintain regular contact with education staff to establish good relationships between the services.
Plan and deliver the NCMP with support from other team members, travelling to schools to height and weigh school aged children as per the standards and guidelines following completion of the competency.
Knowledge skills and experience required:
Maintain accurate records at all times as per trust guidelines.
Ensure that confidentiality is upheld at all times, as per trust guidelines.
Attend the Trust statutory and mandatory training programme specific to the role ensuring that training completed follows the essential skills policy including regular appraisal.
Participate in/access group or team clinical supervision.
Participate in and contribute to team/locality meetings to keep up to date with trust information.
Measurable Result areas:
Meet time scales that are set for each intervention.
Participate in Trust improvement programmes as required to improve service delivery, e.g. Productive Community Services.
Communications and Working Relationships:
Able to work as part of the team
Undertake delegated tasks, feedback to school nurse to initiate actions
Support the induction of new staff in the school nursing team.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Level 2 NVQ in IT, or equivalent experience.
- GCSE A - D level/level 4 to 9 Maths and English or equivalent.
- Must have basic computer skills knowledge e.g. Microsoft word, Publisher, excel.
- Must have a willingness and commitment to undertake training.
Experience
- Experience of working in teams
- Have an awareness of health promotion issues that affect children.
- Clerical/ administration experience
- Must be able to problem solve
- Must have a willingness and commitment to undertake training.
- Experience of System one/ electronic patient records.
Skills
- Must be able to demonstrate sound personal management skills - time management, prioritising and planning appointments with schools.
- Must demonstrate a good standard of communication skills, including with other departments/agencies

- Must have an understanding of the need for confidentiality

Other Job Requirements
- Have access to independent means of transport.
- Must be a non-smoker during working hours

- Must be able to work between 8am - 6pm
- All our staff will have a work base. The Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. Occasionally travel around the Solihull borough and Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful
