Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer

Job summary

We are pleased to invite applications for the role of Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer (aCCIO) for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) or Community Services. This role provides an exciting opportunity to help shape the digital future of CAMHS or Community Service, supporting digital innovation and improved pathways for all.

Working in partnership with the CAMHS or Community Clinical Director, the postholder will lead efforts to improve digital engagement and system optimisation across the service.

In this role, you'll take ownership of ensuring the timely submission of mandatory external returns and internal reports. You'll work with a variety of data tools, including SQL, Tableau, and SSRS, so we're seeking someone who learns quickly and enjoys solving complex logic challenges.

Main duties of the job

The aCCIO will:

o Provide senior clinical digital leadership within CAMHS or Community.

o Support teams to embed effective and efficient digital workflows.

o Identify opportunities for system optimisation and data-driven improvement.

o Promote digital confidence across multidisciplinary teams.

o Represent CAMHS or Community in the wider CCIO leadership team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and expertise in digital health to Trust-wide service developments.

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop high-quality, evidence-based digital clinical services.

Contribute to clinical governance Trust-wide, including serious incident and complaint investigations involving digital health IT systems.

Deputise for the Chief Clinical Information Officer as required.

Support Trust's Clinical Information and Business Intelligence strategies.

Assess risks from informatics services from a clinical perspective and advise on mitigation strategies.

Represent the organization at local, regional, and national meetings as necessary.

Facilitate contributions of others, share leadership, and nurture continuous development.

Person Specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential
  • Registered Medical Practitioner (with CCT in a branch of Psychiatry) or senior clinical practitioner working within the service line.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
  • Digital clinical leadership qualifications
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential
  • Leadership experience within a complex organisation delivering clinical/social care services.
  • Experience in leading governance and quality projects.
  • Experience of delivering improvements in quality
Desirable
  • Experience of multi professional collaboration at a senior level
  • Participation in and understanding of complex organisational change

Knowledge and Skills

Essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health IT systems, electronic health records, and data management
  • Skills in understanding and implementing technology solutions that enhance clinical practice.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive change, manage multidisciplinary teams, and effectively communicate with stakeholders including clinicians, IT staff, and executive leadership
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and healthcare trends, and adapting strategies to integrate these advancements effectively into the healthcare environment.
Desirable
  • Highly effective change management skills
  • Understanding of the provision and delivery of health and social care services, and of the Government's strategy and plans for modernising health care, particularly in relation to mental health.
  • Ability to influence across a range of diverse stakeholder groups
