Assistant System Administrator
Job summary
There has never been a better time to join the Trust's Supply and Delivery Service as a Assistant System Administrator. We have started a couple of new initiatives over the past couple of years to include;
- A managed service for all consumables needed at stations. We adopted a scanning system where we visit all stations, put away stocks, and reorder on their behalf. The systems team look after all the data in order for this to happen.
- Supplying filled Medicines bags to stations, this has begun role out however there was business case written to make a change to a pouch based system along side a new electronic inventory management system. This was approved and both are picking up pace. Hence why we need to recruit some additional support in the set up, roll out and maintainance of this system.
The role of the Assistant System Administrator is also a gateway to the organisation with opportunities to develop your career with us either within the Supply and Delivery Service or the wider Trust in both patient-facing and a variety of support roles.
Main duties of the job
Assistant System Administrator main duties include:
- Maintain quality and content of data held within information systems
- Support analytical work of business area
- Assist with the input and process of information in accordance with procedures
- Respond to enquiries from staff and data provider's
- Train staff on the information system
- Using their knowledge and experience of software/computer systems to support the Systems Administrator with the implementation of new processes and systems
- Responsible for generating and managing Key Performance Indicators for the Supply and Delivery Service
As well as supporting the Supply and Delivery Service in stock control, picking and ordering stocks.
We are in the process of making changes to the ways in which we work in all areas to include Consumables, Pharmacy and Deliveries all alongside the implementation of the new electronic inventory management system. Due to this we are looking for a new team member to support us with this based out of Emerald Park in Bristol, but to support both teams in Exeter and Bristol with all our systems. The successful candidate would be expected to work across both sites using Trust vehicles to support in system maintenance, training alongside the System Administrator.

Education and qualifications
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs including Math's and English or Equivalent
- Full Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 points
- Knowledge of data analysis and associated software/computer systems acquired through experience or relevant qualifications
Previous experience (Paid/ Unpaid relevant to job)
- Experience of stores processes and systems
Skills, knowledge, ability
- Experience of working with NHS systems.
