IT Helpdesk Support Analyst
Southern Lights are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation looking to hire an IT Helpdesk Support Assistant on an initial 12 month fixed-term contract.
This is a hybrid role, with three days working from home and two days on-site, one in Bristol and one in Gloucestershire (travel expenses covered), supporting users across multiple locations.
This is a great opportunity for someone with some hands-on IT support experience who enjoys being user-facing and wants to develop further in a structured environment.
The role
You’ll be providing first line IT support to around 150–200 users, helping resolve day-to-day issues and keeping systems running smoothly.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for IT support queries
- Managing and responding to tickets via the service desk
- Supporting desktops, laptops, tablets and printers
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Assisting with AV equipment setup and support
- Maintaining accurate IT asset registers
- Supporting equipment setup, allocation and disposal (in line with compliance standards)
- Working across multiple sites as required
What they’re looking for
- Some experience in a 1st line or desktop support role
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and desktop applications
- Basic understanding of IT troubleshooting and problem solving
- Strong communication skills, comfortable dealing with users at all levels
- Organised, able to prioritise and manage workload
- Proactive attitude, willing to learn and take initiative
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience with Active Directory
- Exposure to Mac / Apple devices
- Experience supporting AV equipment
