Malware Researcher

A well-funded security research company is looking for an experienced Malware Researcher to join a team dedicated to understanding and combating the evolving Android threat landscape. You'll be conducting deep technical analysis, detecting emerging threats, and building the detection tooling that protects platforms and users at scale. What You'll Be Doing

  • Researching and reverse engineering Android malware - conducting static and dynamic analysis to understand malicious behaviour at a low level
  • Detecting and documenting emerging threats, attack vectors, and trends across the Android ecosystem
  • Writing detection rules and building automation processes for malware identification
  • Documenting findings and contributing to threat intelligence reports, sharing knowledge across the team

What We're Looking For

Experience (Core Requirement)

  • At least 3 years of proven experience in Android/Windows/Mac/Linux research, or low-level reverse engineering or development
  • Hands-on experience with reverse engineering tools and decompilers.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation tools like Frida, or debugging tools such as GDB or LLDB
  • Proficiency in one or more of: Python, JavaScript, or C/C++
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Android development or familiarity with Android frameworks
  • Understanding of Android application security and the broader Android malware ecosystem
  • Experience building automated analysis tools
