Senior AI Engineer / Data Scientist

Location: London - hybrid working

The Opportunity:

You’ll join a well-funded, early-stage startup building AI-driven software for regulated financial institutions.

The platform uses AI and machine learning at its core to help organisations solve complex operational and compliance challenges. The engineering team is building a modern microservice architecture in AWS with a strong focus on automation, testing, and rapid deployment.

The team values clarity, transparency, and craftsmanship. AI is not only central to the product, but also to how the team builds, experiments, and works day-to-day.

The company operates with a London hub but supports flexible hybrid or remote working.

What You Bring:

• A naturally curious mindset, you constantly ask “what if?” and explore better approaches
• A proven track record delivering ML / AI solutions into production environments
• Strong Python expertise and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks such as:
• PyTorch
• TensorFlow
• scikit-learn
• NumPy
• Pandas
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, agentic AI systems, and AI testing frameworks
• Strong communication skills and a passion for clear documentation and knowledge sharing
• The ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where experimentation is encouraged

What You’ll Work With:

Tech Stack

• Frontend: React
• Backend: NestJS, Python (FastAPI), LangChain
• Test Automation: Pact, Jest, Cypress, Pytest (including AI testing)
• Infrastructure: AWS ECS, PostgreSQL, Kafka
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (native AWS services where possible)
• CI/CD: GitHub-based tooling
