SQL Server DBA - £400/day - Inside IR35 - Leeds - Hybrid - SCC Flex Contract
We're seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to support the design, upgrade, and migration of existing database systems into AWS RDS. This role is perfect for an expert who can ensure seamless cloud migrations, high performance, and adherence to organisational database and security standards.

We're seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to support the design, upgrade, and migration of existing database systems into AWS RDS. This role is perfect for an expert who can ensure seamless cloud migrations, high performance, and adherence to organisational database and security standards.
Your responsibilities as the SQL Server DBA:
- Script, test, and implement database migrations, creations, and modifications using best practices for design and performance.
- Ensure all database changes follow the internal DDL change process using Flyway, GitLab, and Jenkins pipelines.
- Collaborate with Front End development teams, joining squads when needed to support high-quality code delivery.
- Produce templates for DDL changes to be shared with stakeholders.
- Automate deployments using Flyway and Git.
- Develop custom scripts to automate routine operational tasks.
- Create and manage database refresh processes across relevant systems.
- Troubleshoot database incidents and ensure resolution within agreed SLAs.
- A degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent technical certification.
- MS SQL Server certification (2016/2019).
- Strong background with SSRS, SSIS, DTS packages, and ETL troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, AWS DMS, Typescript and CDK, GitLab, and pipeline deployments (preferably Flyway).
- Proven experience designing and administering cloud-based database solutions.
- Experience with on-premise to cloud migration projects.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework and full project life cycle involvement.
- Skills in database design, ETL development, and Databricks.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Confluence, Agile/Kanban methodologies, and monitoring tools such as Foglight.
